Russia rates N. Korea as bigger threat
Moscow, Nov. 10: The Russian President, Mr Dmitry Medvedev, has classified North Korea’s nuclear ambitions as a greater threat than that of Iran.
Mr Medvedev, who is in Seoul for the G-20 summit, said in an interview to the South Korean media: “This issue represents a challenge to the entire international nuclear non-proliferation regime”.
“Iran has been the focus of attention, but I want to point out that Tehran, unlike Pyongyang, has not proclaimed itself a nuclear state, and has not tested nuclear weapons, and all the more so has not threatened to use them,” he said.
He pointed out that the site of the North Korean nuclear tests was 100 km from Russia’s eastern border.
