Michelle Obama attempts to break jumping-jack world record
Michelle Obama led about 400 kids in classic calisthenics at White House in her endeavour to set a Guinness World Record for the most jumping jacks.
The First Lady served as ‘jumper-in-chief’ but before kick starting with the task, she used the event as a platform to push her ‘Let's Move!’ campaign that seeks to persuade kids to become more active.
“The world is going to see just how much fun we can have not just breaking a world record but also doing some exercise, right?” Fox News quoted her as saying.
“You can do it just dancing around in your backyard. You can get moving if you’re walking your dog. Or you can get moving doing some jumping jacks, right? There are so many ways to keep moving,” she added.
She then joined the kids and led them in one minute of jumping jacks with more than 800 arms and 800 legs flying back-and-forth across the White House South Lawn.
The group of White House jumpers was observed by an official from Guinness World Records.
