At least 10 protesters shot dead in Yemen: medics
Yemeni security forces shot dead at least 10 anti-regime demonstrators and wounded scores more on Monday in the city of Taez, South of the capital, medics said.
"At least 10 people were killed with live bullets and dozens wounded," said Sadeq al-Shujaa, head of a makeshift field hospital at a square in central Taez, updating an earlier casualty toll from witnesses.
The bloodshed came as demonstrators staged a march on the governorate headquarters to demand the departure of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
