A released Palestinian prisoner embraces her daughters in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Hamas agreed to free Shalit in exchange for 1,027 Palestinian prisoners, many of them serving life terms for deadly attacks; 477 were released in the first batch and another 550 are to be released in two months. — AP
