Indian student stabbed in London, is critical

Hyderabad resident Praveen Reddy, an MBA student in London, is in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in his heart and lungs.

Reddy, 28, who lives in Newham, east London, was admitted to Newh-am General Hospital at 8.20 am Friday with multiple stab wounds, a Scotland Yard spokesperson said.
The Metropolitan police said it arrested 11 people, all men, and of those seven have been released on bail. The police has also sealed the house where Reddy lived for forensic investigation. The Met police did not confirm it, but Reddy seems to have been stabbed after an altercation in the house. “Four people are still in custody,” the police said, refusing to comment on whether those arrested were also Indian or of Indian origin.
Reddy, who recently completed his degree, was due to leave for India next week to visit family for a wedding, a close family friend said. “He called me a few days back and told me he had finished his studies and was ready to leave. As far as I am aware, he was not planning to look for a job in Britain. He wanted to go back to India,” Reddy family friend K. Kasipathi said.
The police was not informed immediately after the stabbing and Reddy was taken to a walk-in centre at the nearby Newham General Hospital. The police was called as the doctors realised the gravity of Reddy’s injuries and he was shifted to Royal Free Hospital in Whitechapel.
Reddy, according to Mr Kasipathi, was stabbed in the heart and lungs and underwent surgery on Friday, but the Met police has refused to comment on his medical status apart from saying that he is in critical condition. After spending Saturday getting documentation ready for Mr Sudhakar Reddy’s trip to London, Mr Kasipathi said he was again going to visit Praveen in hospital. He also revealed that he had come to know that some of those arrested for the stabbing were either Praveen’s classmates or flatmates, but the Met police could not confirm this information.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
