India’s F1 date in Oct. 2011
Formula One will stretch to a record 20 races across four continents next year with India making its eagerly awaited Grand Prix debut in Octo-ber, the sport’s governing body said on Wednesday.
The Indian race will be held in Oct. 2011 at a circuit being built near New Delhi, subject to the facility passing a final inspection by the International Auto-mobile Federation (FIA). It will be the 18th round of the championship.
The 2011 season will start in Bahrain on March 13 and end in Brazil on November 27. The penultimate race will be held in the emirate of Abu Dhabi on November 13. No new teams were admitted to Formula One.
“A number of interested parties expressed their interest. It was considered that none of the candidates met the requirements to be granted an entry into the championship,” the FIA said after a meeting in Paris. By arrangement with AKI
