Governor among 15 killed in Afghan mosque blast
The governor of Afghanistan's Kunduz province and 14 other people were killed on Friday in a blast in northern part of the country, a media report said.
The powerful blast tore through a mosque in Taluqan town of Takhar province, killing Kunduz governor Mohammad Omar and 14 other people, Geo TV reported on its website.
"There was a blast in the mosque. The governor, the imam, altogether 15 people, have been killed," Takhar provincial police chief Shah Jahan Noori said. The nature of the blast was not immediately known.
