Fritzl’s house to be razed

Vienna, Jan. 23: The house where Austrian man Josef Fritzl imprisoned his daughter in a dungeon for 24 years, raped her and fathered seven children with her, will be demolished, officials said.

The house — dubbed the house of horrors — is located in the northern Austrian town of Amstetten.

Though no date has yet been set for the demolition, it was likely to take place at night to deter media attention, authorities said Saturday.

Fritzl, 74, known as monster of Amstetten, was sentenced to life in March 2009, after he pleaded guilty to all charges, including rape and incest.
