F-15 scrambled for Obama aircraft alert
An F-15 fighter jet was scrambled on Sunday after a small single-engine plane violated a flight ban imposed for President Barack Obama's visit in his hometown of Chicago, officials said.
The military jet intercepted the small aircraft ‘in the vicinity of Chicago’ at approximately 10:30 am local time, North American Aerospace Defense Command said in a statement.
"The fighter responded to a temporary flight restriction violation by a small single-engine aircraft... (and) escorted it out of the flight restricted area without further incident," NORAD said.
Obama was in Chicago to spend the weekend there with his family.
