EU gives $2.5m aid to Kashmir
Brussels, July 9: The European Union on Friday allocated $2.52 million in aid for the people affected by the present situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Fatalities still occur in the region, and armed groups have recently vowed to spread more violence, hampering the work of humanitarian aid organisations in these areas,” EuAsiaNews reported citing a statement by the European Commission.
“The funds will benefit over 1 lakh people covering the protection of conflict-related detainees and civilians, as well as health and psychological support to the people,” the statement said.
