Brit couple in shock after winning £11 million lottery
A British couple are said to be in absolute "shock" after winning more than £11 million in a lottery jackpot. Unemployed Peter Redikin and his wife Jacqueline won the jackpot of bagged £11,178,334 on Wednesday night — the biggest single win on the Lotto since April 2008, 'The Sun' reported. Peter, 50 and Jacqueline, 48, claimed the entire jackpot as they were the only people to have all six numbers after a double rollover boosted the prize pot. "We are still both in shock," he was quoted as saying. The couple, from Greater Manchester, won with the same numbers they have used since the lottery began. They plan to splash out on a trip on the Orient Express with the winnings. Peter, married to Jacqueline for 29 years, said: "We are going to treat the family and I want to upgrade my Seat Toledo. I've always wanted a brand new car and have never had the chance to get one." Peter had just dropped his wife at work at a call centre when he checked the ticket. He called her straight away after realising they had won. He said: "I was shaking like a leaf but I managed to call Jacqueline. She couldn't understand me because I couldn't get my words out and she kept telling me to calm down. When I told her we'd won the jackpot she wouldn't believe me and thought I must be wrong."
