Billboard comparing Obama to Hitler, Lenin removed
A billboard designed by the North Iowa unit of the Tea Party comparing President, Mr Barack Obama, to Nazi dictator Adolph Hitler and Russian Revolution leader Vladimir Lenin, has been covered after attracting sharp criticism.
Reacting to harsh criticism, an Iowa tea party chapter has replaced the controversial billboard.
"We got it covered up first thing this morning (Wednesday)," the New York Daily News quoted Kent Beatty, the general manager of the company that owns the billboard, as saying.
The North Iowa Tea Party, which designed the billboard, had the sign quickly papered over with a temporary, non-political message.
The chapter''s co-founder Bob Johnson admitted he understood why the image had been criticized.
But Johnson says his group will have a new, less controversial, Tea Party billboard up quickly.
News that the sign had been replaced came as a relief to the American Gathering of Holocaust Survivors and their Descendants.
