After Nato strike, Pak-US meltdown
Nato helicopters on Saturday killed at least 25 Pakistani Armymen, including two officers, as they attacked three security checkposts in the tribal Mohmand Agency, officials said.
“We can confirm the death of 25 Armymen. Two of them were officers, one of them a major. Fifteen were also injured,” said a Pakistani security official.
Nato planes shelled three check-posts, including Salala and Bolder, in Balazai area of Mohmand Agency.
The Nato spokesman in Kabul said he was aware of the incident and the matter was being investigated. The Pakistan embassy in Washington has issued a strongly worded memo to the United States state department on this incident. The Pakistan foreign office vehemently condemned the Nato forces’ “unprovoked attack”.
