29 trapped miners rescued in China
Beijing: Twenty-nine miners who were trapped in a flooded coalmine in southwest China were on rescued Monday, reports Xinhua.
The miners were pulled out of the pit around 1.18 p.m. The accident occurred when the pit in which they were working was flooded at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Thirty-five miners were working underground at the time of the accident at the Batian coalmine in Weiyuan county of Neijiang city.
Thirteen miners escaped unhurt, while the rest remained trapped. Seven people who were sent to their rescue were also trapped.
The rescued miners, with no visible injuries but looking weak, were instantly sent to the No.2 Hospital of Neijiang City and the People's Hospital of Weiyuan county.
