106-year-old gets special ‘Best Dresser’ award
A 106-year-old academic who has been recognised by Guinness World Records as the oldest person to have travelled around the world using public transportation has received a special ‘Best Dresser’ award.
Saburo Shochi, an educator and professor emeritus at Fukuoka University of Education, on Wednesday received the honour at a ceremony for the 41st Best Dresser Award held in Tokyo.
"The key to fashion is to change your clothes every day," Shochi, who showed up in a yellow suit, said cheerfully, to big laughter.
"Humans start to age from the day they stop caring about being fashionable. There are many (examples like that) when I look around," Shochi said.
