10-yr-old US boy kills white supremacist father
A 10-year-old Californian boy, brought up amid a neo-Nazi group, has been charged with murder of his white supremacist father.
The boy, whose name has been withheld, allegedly shot dead his father Jeff Hall, 32, on May 1. Hall was an active supporter of the National Socialist Movement, US' largest neo-Nazi party, according to ‘The New York Times’.
Police said the murder was intentional but the reason for the act is yet to be ascertained.
The boy, who is expected to appear in a court later this month, has been charged as a juvenile with murder. His public defender said he might plead ‘insanity’.
According to police, the boy fired his handgun and killed his father as he lay on the living room couch.
Hall, who led a chapter of the group in Riverside, California, east of Los Angeles, had predicted that his political activities — in a world rife with hatred, suspicion and violence — would lead to his demise, the report said.
"I want a white society," Hall had said. "I believe in secession. I believe in giving my life for secession."
The party had reportedly attracted several members including young racist skinheads, aging Ku Klux Klan members, and extremists on the left and the right.
The movement is led by Jeff Schoep who calls it a ‘white civil rights movement.’
"If we’re a hate group," Schoep said, "then Martin Luther King is a racist or a bigot also."
