‘Osama to have British grandchild’

A 24-year-old British woman is all set to give birth to Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s grandchild, a media report said.
According to the Sun, Louise Pollard is acting as a surrogate mother for Osama’s 29-year-old son Omar bin Laden — and she is undergoing fertility treatment to conceive using Omar’s sperm and eggs from his British wife Jane Felix Browne.
The Qatar-based Laden couple, who are desperate to have a child but cannot on their own, contacted Louise through a surrogacy website.
And now they have agreed for her to carry their baby, the report said.
If the bid is successful, it will mean Osama having a British grandchild.
Omar, a scrap metal dealer, has a six-year-old son from a previous marriage. But after tying the knot in 2007 with the 54-year-old granny, he’s keen to have another.
The fourth eldest child of the world’s most wanted terrorist, and his wife have been based in Qatar for two years after Britain rejected several of his visa applications to live in this country.
Omar, whose mum is Osama’s first wife Najwa, met Jane on a riding trip to Egypt’s Pyramids in March 2007. He became the granny’s sixth husband when they wed a month later in two Islamic ceremonies in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Multiple sclerosis sufferer Jane has three adult children from previous relationships.

Restaurant turns away Edward
London : In an apparent embarrassment to the British royal family, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie have been denied entry to a well-known restaurant in Northern Island, a media report said on Friday.
According to the Daily Express, Prince Edward and Sophie were rebuffed after the owner of The Manor House restaurant and guesthouse on Rathlin Island, off the coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, cancelled a booking from government officials who refused to identify the VIP guests.
Instead of dining from a stylish menu that included monkfish with chorizo, asparagus and cherry tomatoes at £18.95 per head, the Earl and Countess of Wessex were shunted off to the island’s only pub, the report said. There they had to make do with sausage rolls and vol-au-vents in the cafe adjoining McCuaigs Bar, which boasts cheap beer and pool. —PTI

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
