Zardari: Let India, Pak exit Siachen
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday proposed the withdrawal of both Pakistani and Indian troops from the Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battleground.
Speaking to journalists in Karachi, Mr Zardari said while India spent $50 daily on each soldier in Siachen, while Pakistan spent only Rs 50. He said a mutual pullout of troops from Siachen would enable both countries to spend the money on welfare programmes.
