Zakia’s plea for copies of SIT report rejected
A metropolitan court here on Wednesday rejected pleas seeking copies of the special investigation team’s final report regarding Zakia Jafri’s complaint, saying it would decide on this only after all related documents were submitted by the probe agency.
Passing the order, magistrate M.S. Bhatt said at this stage all applications seeking copies were disallowed, and the SIT given time till March 15 to submit all remaining documents.
Mr M.S. Bhatt said these pleas would be decided after the complete special investigation team report was filed.
The applications seeking copies were filed by Zakia Jafri, Teesta Setalvad, Mukul Sinha of Jan Sangarsh Manch and a Gulberg Society riot victim.
Zakia’s counsel filed another application on Wednesday seeking that the report, in a sealed cover, be opened in court and its contents read out. This was opposed by the special investigation team’s counsel.
