Zakia Jafri to get copy of SIT report on Gujarat riots probe

An Ahmedabad court on Tuesday ordered the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to give a copy of its closure report on the 2002 Gulbarg society massacre to Zakia Jafri.

The court directed that Zakia, wife of former Congress MP who was killed in the riots, should be given the copy after 30 days.

The court also stated that there were no evidence against any accused, named in Zakia's complaint and no offence established against them as per the SIT report.

Zakia had accused over 50 people of their involvement in the riots and blamed Chief Minister Narendra Modi of not taking any action to prevent the massacre.
