Yeddyurappa holds meeting with BDA officials
Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa went into consultations with Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) officials on Friday, a day after a local court ordered Lokayukta probe into the allegations of illegal denotification of lands by him favouring his kin.
Yeddyurappa summoned BDA commissioner Bharatlal Meena and others for a discussion, according to official sources.
Chief secretary S.V. Ranganath and some other officials were also present during the discussions, the details of which were unavailable.
An initial complaint filed by advocates Sirajin Bhasha and K.N. Balaraj had alleged Yeddyurappa of denotification of BDA notified land in favour of his family members, who later sold it for monetary gains.
The complainants also alleged irregularities in amalgamation of lands in Arkavathy layout and its denotification on the basis of a request by a non-owner of the land.
There are four more complaints pending before the court against Yeddyurappa, his family members, former minister S.N. Krishnaiah Setty over alleged irregularities in denotification of lands.
Another complaint filed against home minister R. Ashoka over denotification of lands he secured has also been referred to Lokayukta police probe.
The process of recording statements of complainants on their second complaint will be taken up today by additional civil and session court judge C.B. Hippargi.
