Won’t tolerate terror: Shivraj
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said here on Monday that terrorism in any form would not be allowed to raise its head in the state. He said that the about 100 terrorists have been arrested by the Madhya Pradesh ATS in the recent past.
Mr Chouhan was addressing the people at a special Independence Day function at Motilal Nehru Stadium here. He called upon the people to participate in the process of transforming Madhya Pradesh into a prosperous state and reaching out to the most deprived sections ensuring them the benefits of development. He said that the state Bharatiya Janata Party government is devoted to the concept of Mahatma Gandhi’s Gram Swaraj and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s Antyodaya.
Recalling the sacrifice of tribal leaders who were front ranking freedom fighters, the chief minister said Tantya Bhil Smarak (memorial) is being built at Badoda Ahir village in Khandwa district, Bheema Nayak Centre is being set up at Dhababavadi village in Badwani district and Chandra Shekhar Azad memorial temple is under construction at Bhabra in Alirajpur district.
Madhya Pradesh, he said, has become the first state in the country that has formed the agriculture Cabinet to frame pro-farmer policies, Mr Chouhan said, adding during the current fiscal, farmers would be given short term loans totalling about `6,500 crores. This year, a record 49 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been procured and an amount of `500 crore as bonus, in addition to the minimum support price, has been deposited directly into their accounts.
