Woman tries to sell daughters, prevented

Driven by penury, a woman in Bihar's Nawada district attempted to sell her four daughters but was prevented by the district authorities on Wednesday.

Sub-divisional officer Diwan Zaffer Hasan Khan said the woman, a resident of Malukbigha village of the district, was found near a hospital at Hisua trying to sell her four daughters.

The authorities arrived at the spot and sent her to a remand home. A woman sold her son to a Nepali family at Forbesganj in Araria district last week.
