Woman tries to halt her husband’s 2nd wedding

In a bizarre incident, a young housewife stormed into a marriage ceremony to prevent “her husband” from tying the knot for the second time, even as the police remained mute spectators. On Wednesday evening, Puja Kaur along with one Kavita Gupta went to Swabhumi in Phoolbagan and tried to stop her husband Rajesh Giri’s alleged second marriage.
The duo climbed upon the podium and started shouting the “truth”. Showing the marriage registration certificate, Ms Gupta told guests: “This man is already married to this woman (Puja) and he is marrying for the second time.”
But the two women were roughed up by the hosts and chased away from the venue.
Earlier in the morning, Puja went to Lalbazar, the city police headquarters, after three police stations allegedly refused to take her complaint that Rajesh, despite being married to her, was going to marry for the second time.

Soon, etiquette lessons for haryana cops
Age Correspondent
Chandigarh, June 27

In near future, you can expect that the stick-yielding Haryana police, which till now is not really known for its people-friendly image, to greet people with a polite hello when they visit the police station with their problems or meet a Haryana cop anywhere else.
In an attempt to change the image of a harsh and impolite police force, the state government is chalking out a plan to develop the soft skills of its formidable police force. The purpose of the programme is to weed out the fear of the police amongst the citizens during their interface with the police. The government wants to change the colonial image of the police where it is only dreaded by the citizens and at best avoided.
The senior officials of the Haryana police and state home department are already busy in developing the modalities of the programme under which the soft skills are developed.
According to home secretary Samir Mathur: “The emphasis would be on improving the body language of the cops.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
