Woman strangled to death
A young married woman was strangulated to dead at her Narela residence with the police suspecting the involvement of her husband.
The police said the deceased, identified as Shikha, 28, a housewife, was found lying inside a room at her Narela residence with her one-year-old son crying by her side. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when the neighbours heard a child crying for a long time.
“When they knocked at the door, there was no response following which a call was made to police control room. A team of cops broke open the door and found Shikha lying in the room. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead,” a senior police official said.
The sources said the deceased was married two years back to one Ranjeet, a native of Bihar’s Munger district, who was working in a private company. When the police tried to contact him, he first ignored the calls and later switched off the phone, “We are suspecting his involvement in the murder. A team has been rushed to his native place. He will be arrested soon,” the official said.
In another incident, a young man was found murdered in a park in Sultanpuri area on Wednesday morning. The police said the deceased, whose identity has not been confirmed so far, was spotted by locals in a park following which PCR was alerted. “There were various sharp injury marks on his body. It is likely that he was killed somewhere else,” a police official said.
