Woman among nine arrested
Nine people, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and gangrape of three bargirls at Bidadi near here, recently.
Police investigations have revealed that the accused had kidnapped the bargirls to force them into flesh trade. They had allegedly raped three of the five girls on the day of the incident, police said.
The arrested are Sanjay (26) of Vigneshwara Nagar, Jakka (24), Naga (26), Kiran (22), Vishwa (24), Shivakumar (22), Prasanna (26), Girish (22) and Sudha (24), who works in the city as a beautician.
The accused had ransacked the home of the bargirls and had made away with `15,000 in cash, gold ornaments, a LCD television and other electronic gadgets. “When the victims refused to indulge in prostitution, the accused allegedly raped three of the bargirls,” said police, adding that the accused were working with Sai Tours and Travels.
One of the accused, Girish, was residing on the top floor of the building where the alleged incident took place. The main accused, Sanjay, along with the beautician Sudha and Girish, hatched a plan to kidnap and force them into prostitution. Sudha had even arranged for a rented place to run the prostitution racket with kidnapped girls.
The police has seized the articles which were stolen from the residence of the bargirls. The victims had complained that the gang barged into their rented house in Bidadi, 30 km from Bengaluru, forcibly took them in a car to an unknown location and sexually assaulted them.
The victims had said in the complaint that the incident occurred around Thursday midnight after they returned home from work at Casino Bar and Restaurant in a Bengaluru suburb.
