WillKat honeymoon in Jordan?
Prince William and fiancee Kate Middleton are planning a trip to Jordan for their honeymoon after they get married on April 29, a media report said.
While their honeymoon destination is still a closely guarded secret, it is learnt the couple will go to Jordan for two weeks, where they have already booked a week-long tailormade tour of its southern areas, including a visit to the ancient city of Petra, London’s Sunday Telegraph said.
William, 28, and Kate, 29, will leave London for their honeymoon the day after the wedding, and while they are said to be considering several options for the break, Jordan appears to be their preferred destination.
The couple will also spend some time in Amman, where the Middleton family had moved to in 1984, and where Kate had even attended a nursery school, the newspaper added. They are also likely to call on Jordan’s King Abdullah and Queen Rania, longtime close friends of the British royal family.
A royal aide was quoted as saying: “We will not identify which country the couple may be going to for their honeymoon. After the wedding, we will announce when they have gone away for their two-week break, where they hope to enjoy some privacy.”
William’s parents — Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana — had started their honeymoon after their 1981 wedding at Broadlands, the Hampshire estate of Lord Mountbatten, before a Mediterranean cruise on the royal yacht Britannia and spending time at the Queen’s Balmoral estate in Scotland.
