Will last the term: Kiran Kumar Reddy
he two years of his tenure have not been easy for the 52-year-old politician who has faced issues like Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telangana, desertions from the party etc. “I came to power when the situation in the state was really bad. I inherited many problems, but I solved them one by one,” Reddy said during a chat with select newspapers on Friday to mark the completion of two years of his tenure.
“You are not aware of the other problems I inherited. When I became CM, the financial position was very bad and I had to set things right all these months.”
On Opposition parties taking out padayatras, Reddy said: “But you don’t know the impact my Indiramma Baata is creating. Mine is a development yatra that people are concerned about.”
Asked about the party leaders leaving the Congress, Reddy pointed out that people have always left the party. “If old blood goes, new blood automatically comes in.”
“I need not give any explanation about the Majlis calling me communal,” the CM said about the MIM attack on him . “Muslims are not the monopoly of the MIM. They are confined to a few parts in the old city,” he said, adding, “No CM or government has done more for Muslims in AP than me...”
Confident that the hardest times were behind him, the CM said the Congress will return to power after the next elections.
