Will 20-day jail ordeal of Yeddyurappa end today?
Will the former CM of Karnataka, who’s been in jail since October 15 get bail today?
In a huge relief for B.S. Yeddyurappa, the HC on Thursday granted conditional bail in one case, relating to denotification of land at Arakere, Geddalahalli and Devarachikkanahalli on condition he furnish a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh each.
But whether he stays or walks out of Parappana Agrahara central prison on Friday will depend on whether the court will grant him bail in another case, the orders for which are expected on Friday.
The BJP in the state, caught between backing its election-winning mascot and the embarrassment of trying to justify the charges of corruption he faces, has decided to give their fallen hero a rousing ride home, if he gets bail on Friday.
Sources have told Deccan Chronicle that they had to call off a celebratory procession planned for Thursday as news came in that bail in one case did not mean the BJP leader was home free.
The court has adjourned the matter to Friday and is expected to pass bail orders on the plea by Mr Yeddyurappa and Krishnaiah Setty relating to denotification of lands at Rachenahalli, Uttarahalli and Agara.
