We respect T: Sharmila
Y.S. Sharmila Reddy of the YSR Congress who is on a padayatra through the state, entered the
Telangana region on Thursday.
She was met by several party loyalists and sympathisers at the border village of Pulloor, and there was no sign of the hostility from pro-Telangana activists who were expected to show up.
Both Y.S.Vijayalakshmi and her daughter Sharmila Reddy, who are carrying the party flag on behalf of the incarcerated president of the party Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, addressed the crowd without any resistance from Telangana activists.
“The development of Telangana region was high on the agenda of YSR Congress, and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will strive to bring back the golden era of YSR who has given a lion’s share to the region in all the welfare schemes he had launched,” Sharmila told the large gathering.
Making a bow in the direction of Telangana statehood, she made a special reference to the youths who have committed suicides for the cause of Telangana.
“I salute the people who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana. At the same time, I
advise the people not to give up their lives, but to join Jagan Mohan in the fight against this immoral government and be part of the development process to usher in another YSR era,” she said.
