Violent teen girls stab each other in fight over shoes
Two teenage girls have been hospitalised after they allegedly stabbed each other in a tussle over shoes at the Gold Coast's Robina Town Centre.
The place was recently in news for the 'Bikie' gang shooting.
Emergency crews were called to the busy shopping centre at about 7.45pm, who found a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old with suspected stab wounds, the Courier Mail reported.
Police is investigating the incident and believe that the fight between the teenagers led to the stabbing.
It is unknown whether the two girls knew each other but there were early reports from witnesses suggested that the fight broke out over a pair of shoes.
A police spokesman revealed that the 17-year-old allegedly pulled a knife and wounded the younger girl before then being stabbed herself.
A Queensland ambulance spokesman insisted that the victims were taken to Gold Coast Hospital, however the injuries were not life threatening.
The Child Protection Investigation Unit is investigating.
