Vasundhara Raje appointed leader of Opposition
BJP leader Vasundhara Raje was on Wednesday appointed as the leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly, a year after she had to quit the post following the party's poor performance in Assembly and Parliamentary polls.
Assembly Speaker D.S. Shekhawat announced the appointment of the former chief minister as soon as the House assembled.
Raje was elected unopposed as leader of BJP legislature party in Rajasthan on February 26, 2011.
58-year-old Raje had to step down as the leader of Opposition last year after BJP's central leadership asked her to quit in the wake of the party's dismal performance in Assembly and general elections in 2009.
