Varun meets Bhagwat, slams Diggy
After BJP’s senior-most leader L.K. Advani, party’s youth leader Varun Gandhi visits the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in Nagpur. The MP and national general secretary of the party met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat during his visit.
Mr Gandhi was at the RSS headquarters for almost three hours and refused to divulge details of the discussion. However, he chose to comment on the allegations made by senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, who had said that the RSS is providing training to make “bombs”.
“The allegation made by the Digvijay Singh is very fatal in nature, which makes our country weak,” the Mr Gandhi said. It is believed that certain political issues were discussed during the meet.
Mr Gandhi had come into the limelight following the hate speeches he made during elections campaigns. The aggressive stand taken by him had increased his popularity in the party. Keeping this in view, the then BJP president Nitin Gadkari chose to induct him in his team.
Mr Gandhi has also been awarded the responsibility of building support in Uttar Pradesh that plays a crucial role in parliamentary elections. It is believed that on the behest of the RSS, Mr Gandhi was selected for such important responsibilities.
BJP leaders Lalkrishna Advani, Rajnath Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Nitin Gadkari and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi too have visited the RSS headquarters this month.
