The CBI is turning on the heat on the BJP’s PM candidate, Mr Narendra Modi, and his close associate Amit Shah, with the agency sleuths on Friday questioning suspended Gujarat IPS officer D.G. Vanzara in Sabarmati Jail on his resignation letter and alleged fake encounter cases.
Mr Vanzara’s disclosures to the CBI could clearly bring create major political hiccups for Mr Modi and the BJP at a time when it has gone all out to build its campaign for the 2014 general elections around him. The Vanzara revelations could also mean major trouble for Mr Shah, who has been entrusted with the job of strategising the saffron gameplan in Uttar Pradesh. Sources said a four-member team grilled Mr Vanzara about the allegations which he had levelled in a letter against Mr Modi and Mr Shah.
