‘UNSC must expand in tune with realities’

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said the UNSC must be expanded by increasing its permanent and non-permanent membership in tune with the contemporary realities. Ms Kumar, who is currently leading an Indian

parliamentary delegation to the 125th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly being held in Bern, Switzerland, from October 16 to 19, participated in a panel discussion on “Redistribution of power, not just wealth: Ownership of the Inter-national Agendas” on Tuesday. She said the recent financial crisis had underscored the necessity of reforming financial and regulatory bodies.
