UMA MAY contest U.P. POLLS

Sanyasin and senior BJP leader Uma Bharti is expected to contest the Uttar Pradesh Assemby polls from the Bundelkhand region. Party’s other heavyweights from the state including Rajya Sabha members Kalraj Mishra and

Vinay Katiyar along with state unit chief Surya Pratap Shahi are also expected to contest the UP Assembly polls scheduled for next year. Rajya Sabha tenure of both Mr Mishra and Mr Katiyar is ending early next year. A meeting of senior BJP leaders from the state was held on Thursday to formulate strategy for the UP polls.
While other political parties including Congress and SP have declared maximum number of its candidates and BSP announcing its candidates for all the 403 assembly constituencies, BJP is yet to come out with its first list
