Uddhav, Athavale will share stage with Advani
Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani’s “Janchetana Yatra” will make its way into Mumbai on November 4. Interestingly, apart from several BJP leaders slated to speak at the rally, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and RPI leader Ramdas Athawale will also be amongst the people who address the crowd.
“Gopinath Munde has told me that Mr Thackeray will be participating in the rally to be held at Kora Kendra, Borivali, on the first day,” said BJP Mumbai president Raj Purohit. He also confirmed that Mr Athawale would be there.
Covering three parliamentary constituencies and 22 corporation wards, the yatra plans to cover 39 kilometres in Mumbai.
Mr Purohit added that Mr Advani would be welcomed by students, women and BJP supporters at 35 places in the city, including IIT-B. However, the veteran BJP leader will skip south Mumbai.
The Mumbai BJP president added that there would be 17 vehicles that would be accompanying the ratha, but other vehicles are likely to join the convoy when it enters Mumbai. Moreover, as many as 1,500 two-wheelers will follow the ratha as an expression of the youth’s support to the yatra.
Giving information about the efforts made by local BJP workers to make Mr Advani’s initiative a success in Mumbai, Mr Purohit said that local leaders have been working meticulously on the programme for the last one month.
