Two schoolgirls killed for resisting molestation bid in Bihar
Two schoolgirls who resisted a molestation attempt were deliberately hit and run over by a jeep leading to their deaths in Bihar's Nawada district on Saturday, police said.
The Class X students boarded a jeep after collecting money from their school at Sitaram village under Mufassil police station, the sources said.
The money were given to them under the Chief Minister's Uniform Scheme for purchasing uniform and educational material.
People in the jeep, which ferries passengers in rural areas, tried to molest the two girls at which they alighted and tried to run away, they said.
The jeep then came from behind and knocked them down killing one of them, Julie Kumari, instantly, while Munni Kumari died at the Sadar Hospital, they said. The vehicle has not been traced yet.
