Two murders rock Chennai
Two bodies of murder victims were found in different parts of the city on Thursday morning.
This has brought to 16 the number of people murdered in the city since January 1 and though the police has solved most of the cases, the sensational murder of a woman bank employee at Nungambakkam is yet to be solved.
On Thursday morning, the body of a man was found on a foot overbridge inside Nungambakkam railway station, where the head of the victims seems to have been smashed against the floor of the bridge, according to railway police sources.
“The deceased was probably 40 years old. There was Rs 30 in his pocket and a piece of paper with three mobile number written on it. He was wearing a blue shirt and a lungi. His head was tonsured recently and three fingers on his right hand were missing,” the police said.
The identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained, said the police, adding that the murder could have taken place between 5 am and 7 am.
In the second case, a 25-year-old autorickshaw driver was found dead in a bush near a canal in Guindy industrial estate.
The victim was identified as Rajasekhar alias Sait of Visaka Thottam Saidapet. He was married to one Nithya and the couple had one child.
The victim, whose autorickshaw is usually parked in Kumaran Nagar, had stab injuries on his body.
Three men have surrendered at Egmore court in connection with the case.
