Two Maoists surrender in Jharkhand
Two Maoists on Friday surrendered before police in Jharkhand, where the police have launched 'Operation Nai Disha' to bring ultras back to the mainstream.
Marshal Tuti and Suresh Munda of CPI(Maoist) surrendered with arms before Jharkhand Police Chief, Mr Neyaz Ahmed on Thursday, police said on Friday.
Five Maoists had earlier surrendered in Palamau, Bokaro and Ramgarh. Under the rehabilitation package launched by the government, a surrendered ultra from a banned outfit will get Rs 2.5 lakh, a plot and Rs 50,000 to construct a house, free healthcare and loan to start business.
Several rebels have also been arrested in the past fortnight in the anti-Maoists drive, police said.
