Two killed as truck falls off flyover in Delhi

Two people died and two others were injured when a speeding truck loaded with apples drove off a flyover in Delhi in the wee hours of Wednesday, police said.

"The truck loaded with apples fell off from the flyover near the Indira Gandhi Stadium while it was going towards Sarai Kale Khan. The accident took place around 3 a.m.," said a police officer.

Driver Prempal, 28, and helper Vishal, 25, died on the spot while passengers Balakram, 35, and his 14-year-old son, Devender, are undergoing treatment at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital.

They were on way to Haryana after loading the truck at Azadpur Mandi, the police officer said.
