Two IM men shown blast area footage
National Investigation Agency officials and counter-intelligence sleuths have shown Indian Mujahideen operatives Syed Maqbool and Imran Khan’s CCTV footages from Kalaniketan showroom and from other shops and traffic cameras before the Dilsukhnagar blasts to see if they could identify anyone.
The agencies have also identified three Hyderabadis who gave logistical support to Maqbool and Khan when they had conducted a recce in 2012. Sources added that all three did not have any knowledge about the terror activities of Maqbool.
The three are Mr Mohammed Abrar Hussain (35) a realtor and resident of Akbarbagh in Malakpet, Mr Syed Adnan Ahmed, 22, a B.Com Final Year student from Anwar Ul Uloom College and Muteeur Rahman (20) an Intermediate student and brother one Ubaidurahman (formerly arrested by Bengaluru police in a conspiracy case), a resident of Chandrayangutta.
A senior police official in the investigation team said, “The three of them were giving logistical support. However, so far our investigations found they don’t have any information regarding his terror activities.”
Mr Naveed Hussain, brother of Mr Abrar Hussain said, “My brother has no links with Maqbool. They knew each other earlier in the real estate business. There is no contact with him now. When we asked the local inspector he said he would be released tomorrow after questioning,”
Their father, Mr Haji, also said that his son was not involved in any illegal activity. Another youth, one Mr Safiuddin from Hafeez Babanagar was questioned by the police as he had allegedly helped one of the suspects in making phone calls.
An investigating official said, “Maqbool knew the four absconding suspects of Indian Mujahideen who are wanted in the cycle bomb blasts in Pune and Mumbai and are also suspected to have been involved in the Hyderabad blasts. They are Yasin Bhatkal, Tabre, Waqas and Tahseen Sheik of Bihar.”
Maqbool and Imran were questioned at the NIA office in Begumpet and they were taken to the Counter Intelligence Cell.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Delhi police officials arrived in the city and participated in the interrogation.
