TRS, JAC vow to stall Chandrababu's Warangal visit
Alleging that TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is against separate Telangana statehood, TRS and Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Wednesday vowed to stall his proposed tour to Warangal district this week.
"Whoever comes to Telangana, they should take a clear stance on the separate statehood demand," JAC convener M Kodandaram said.
TRS has called a bandh in Warangal district on January 6 when Naidu is scheduled to visit.
Naidu's visit to Warangal district in Telangana region is part of his state-wide tour to meet farmers' in distress.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao had alleged on several occasions earlier that Naidu incited the public representatives of all parties from non-Telangana regions to submit resignations in protest against the Centre's announcement on December 9, 2009, on taking steps for formation of separate Telangana.
Meanwhile, TDP leaders wondered why should their leader be stopped from undertaking a visit to meet the farmers.
Why did TRS support the no-confidence motion moved by TDP against the Congress government over the problems of farmers during the recent assembly session, senior TDP leader Kadiam Srihari said.
The JAC convener is acting like the official spokesperson of TRS, he charged.
JAC comprises TRS, BJP and a number of people's organisations like pro-Telangana employees of Andhra Pradesh government.
