Too many CMs in UP, says BSP
The Bahujan Samaj Party said on Sunday that the Akhilesh Yadav government had several chief ministers-in-waiting, as a result of which the government was proving a failure on all fronts.
Addressing a press conference here, Leader of the Opposition and state BSP president Swami Prasad Maurya said had there been one chief minister, the government could have worked in the right direction.
“But here there are super chief ministers, parallel chief ministers and chief ministers-in-waiting. In short, there are too many power centres in the government which only serves to add to the prevailing confusion. The first 100 days of the government have failed to make a mark and this accounts for the failure of governance,” he said.
Mr Maurya claimed that the Samajwadi Party government was trying to take the credit for projects completed in the Mayawati regime. “The SP government set out by criticising everything that had been done in the BSP government but now it is accepting the same decisions and policies,” he said.
The BSP leader further claimed that the law and order situation in the state had worsened to such an extent that “jungle raj” was prevailing everywhere and the power crisis could not be worse. “These are the major failures of this government,” he pointed out.
Mr Maurya said even though SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav was giving 100 out of 100 to his CM son on completing 100 days “the reality is that the government has not done even a single work so far.”
“The government has failed to resolve problems and in such circumstances has got out on zero,” he said.
