TN transfers 'encounter' case to CBCID
Tamil Nadu police on Saturday transferred to the Crime Branch division of the CID, the alleged encounter case in which five men suspectedly involved in two bank robberies were shot dead in the city.
Police sources said, DGP Ramanujam has ordered CBCID to probe the killing, which has raised several questions with even National Human Rights Commission issuing a notice to the State to investigate the incident on Wednesday last.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the prime suspect in the bank-robbery case identified the body kept at the Government General Hospital, they said.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday directed his State's Director General of Police and the home department to find out details of the alleged encounter in which four of the five killed were from Bihar.
