TN parties yet to finalise poll pacts
With just six days for nominations to open for the April 13 polls to the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, the political scene is yet to emerge clear with seat sharing talks in both ruling DMK and AIADMK fronts proving tough and contentious.
After the Congress-DMK clinched a deal at the end of protracted negotiations under which Congress will contest 63 seats, identification of constituencies has now become difficult with both parties sticking to their guns.
Under the deal early this week, DMK will contest 121 seats, PMK 30, Viduthlalai Chiruthaigal Katchi 10, Kongu Nadu Munnetra Kazhagam 7, IUML two and Moovender Munetra Kazhagam one, the last two seeking election on the DMK symbol.
Seat sharing talks with Left parties and MDMK have got bogged down with these parties demanding more seats.

`1.25 crore diverted for hospital facility
As Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital is located in my constituency, about `1.25 crore of the area development fund was diverted to the facility to procure live-saving ventilators.
I personally admit at least five people to the hospital each month from my constituency and periodically visit them while they are being treated.
I have obtained over 2,000 ration cards for residents of Park Town.
Around 100 auto drivers were given accident insurance policies.
Funds were sanctioned to carry out construction of noon meal centres and civic amenities in Central Chennai.
