Thrown off Shatabdi, woman dies

A woman died after she and her husband were pushed out of a running Shatabdi train by two Railway Protection Force men Wednesday.

Santosh and husband Rajeshwar Dutt Tyagi, who had general class tickets, boarded the Delhi-Dehra Dun Shatabdi by mistake, Rajeshwar said in a complaint filed at a GRP post. He claimed two RPF personnel pushed them out of the train soon after it left the station.
Santosh fell on the track and got run over, but Rajeshwar escaped unhurt. He said he and his wife were travelling to Deoband in Saharanpur district for a funeral, and boarded the Shatabdi by mistake.
A case was registered against a RPF sub-inspector and constable, but no arrests have been made yet.
