Terror: Massive Lashkar-e-Tayyeba op unearthed in New Delhi
Intelligence agencies and Delhi Police's Special Cell today unearthed a massive terror
plot to target New Delhi's crowded market places during the Holi season.
Ethisham and Shafaqat, operatives from the Lashkar-e-Tayyeba and suspected to have been trained in Pakistan, were arrested while they were planning to carry out attacks at 'more than one place in the national capital'.
"The two have been apprehended and it is a very important breakthrough", Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram said.
Deccan Chronicle can report that more arrests are on the way and 'important recoveries' were made during the nabbing.
The LeT duo were, later, produced before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate who remanded them to 10-day police custody.
Chidambaram has termed the arrests as 'a big catch' and congratulated the central agencies and police forces involved in the successful operation.
