Tender process begins for building works
Nellore: The tender process for the proposed medical college under government sector at Dodla Subba Reddy Government Hospital in Nellore has been completed by January 9.
State government gave its nod to build the medical college with bed strength of 750 beds at an estimated cost of Rs 310 crore and called for tenders.
According to Mr P. Ankamma Chowdary, executive engineer of A.P. Health, Medical Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APHMHIDC), K.C.P. Projects, Track and Towers Infratech Pvt. Ltd, B.P.R. Infrastructure Limited and Ambian Construction India Limited have submitted tenders for Rs 78 crore worth works.
The tenders will be opened on January 15 and the work will be allotted to the lowest bidder who submitted tenders for all the works.
Administrative sanction will be accorded from January 19 to start the works.
The government has been planning to start the college by providing admission for 150 students from next academic year.
It may be mentioned here that the government has been planning to use the available bed strength in the children’s hospital and D.S.R. government hospital in Nellore to start the college from the ensuing academic year.
