Telangana set to dominate Budget Session
If the JPC demand over the 2G spectrum scam led to the wash-out of the last Winter Session of Parliament, it looks like the Telangana issue is all set to dominate the current Budget Session.
Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekar Rao (KCR), who had sought an adjournment motion over the issue, raised it during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. As Speaker Meira Kumar told him that she will give him an opportunity to raise it during Zero Hour, he left the House in a huff. He later told reporters that he will raise the issue on Wednesday too and will not stop until the government agreed to table the bill in Parliament. He said, “I will do it again. I will continue to raise the issue till the government agrees to table the Telangana bill.” He further added, “I wanted to create a ruckus but was advised by our friends in the BJP not to spoil the atmosphere as the JPC has just been conceded. They promised to support me from tomorrow.”
As part of his coordination efforts, he met the Congress MPs from Telangana and also called on BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav and CPI leader Gurudas Das Gupta and sought their support.
Later in the evening, he said that Telangana people will remain indebted to the BJP leaders.
